Services

Three formats, chosen by what is missing: a direction, a judgement, or an experienced pair of hands.

Interim technical leadership

A company finds itself without technical leadership — a departure, growth outpacing the organisation, a reorganisation after a transaction. We hold the seat for as long as needed, with an executive mandate rather than an observer’s.

For whom
Software vendors, industrial companies with an in-house team, funded businesses that owe a roadmap to a board.
How it runs
A two-week assessment, then the job itself: architecture decisions, prioritisation, hiring, executive reporting, and preparing a successor.
Typical length
Three to nine months, two to four days a week.
Deliverables
A dated technical roadmap, a risk map, a handover file.

Architecture and audit

A system exists, it more or less works, and nobody can say what it will cost next year. The audit answers that question with figures and priorities — not a list of best practices.

For whom
Executives ahead of an investment, funds and acquirers ahead of a transaction, teams inheriting a system they did not build.
How it runs
Reading the code and its history, interviewing the team, measuring the system as it actually runs, and comparing all of it with the commitments made. Spoken debrief, then written.
Typical length
Two to six weeks depending on the size of the system.
Deliverables
A ranked audit report: what is sound, what is urgent, what each option costs — and what it is reasonable to leave alone.

Expert reinforcement

A well-identified hard problem on which a competent team is losing time: a critical component to design, a data pipeline to put into production, a legacy system to take over without documentation or author.

For whom
In-house teams looking for occasional reinforcement rather than a fixed-price project.
How it runs
Working with the team, in its tools and its conventions. The code produced belongs to it and is explained to it.
Typical length
A few days to a few weeks.
Deliverables
The component, its tests, and the note explaining the choices made.

The first conversation is free and exists to establish whether we are the right people. If we are not, we say so.
